Terms
API Community Tanzania · Tanzania · Last updated 26 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and API Community Tanzania for this directory. The marketplace is a discovery directory. You can browse published listings, and a provider can submit an organization and listings for review. Questions about these terms go to support@apicon.or.tz.
The directory
A published listing describes an API and links to the provider’s own documentation or access page. The provider operates that API and sets the price, access rules, and terms for using it. API Community Tanzania hosts the directory. Payment for an API is between the visitor and the provider.
Publishing a listing, accepting an organization, and recording a technical-validation note are separate steps. A published listing is a directory entry. Security, availability, and fitness for a purpose sit with the provider, under that provider’s own terms.
Who may register
Anyone may browse the public directory. Registering a provider account is for people who are 18 or older. Sign-in uses Google or GitHub to identify the account. You are responsible for activity that comes through that sign-in.
Organizations and listings
Creating an organization asks for the organization name, headquarters country, website, a public contact email, and a short description. Verification starts as pending. Claiming a listing, creating a listing, and submitting a revision wait until verification is accepted.
API Community Tanzania reviews a new listing before it can appear in public. A change to a published listing is reviewed before it replaces the public version. API Community Tanzania keeps the final decision on editing, refusal, and publication. An approved claim names the organization that may manage the listing. The claim leaves ownership of the API with the provider.
You keep ownership of the material you submit. You give API Community Tanzania permission to store it, review it, and display it on the marketplace for as long as the listing or organization profile remains published. You confirm that you have the right to submit that material, including the public contact email.
Acceptable use
When you submit an organization or a listing, you agree that the material:
- describes a real API and a provider you are allowed to represent
- uses a documentation or access link you are allowed to publish
- is lawful in Tanzania and in the places you say the API is available
- is free of impersonation, phishing, and malware
API Community Tanzania may refuse a submission, unpublish a listing, or close an account that breaks these terms or that misleads visitors.
Visiting a provider
When you leave the marketplace for a provider’s site or API, the provider’s terms and privacy notice apply. Support, uptime, and billing for that API are the provider’s responsibility.
Responsibility
The directory is offered as it is available. Listings can be incomplete, and an external link can fail. Loss that comes from using a third-party API is a matter between you and that provider. The law of Tanzania sets the limits of API Community Tanzania's responsibility for the directory, including any responsibility the law does not allow an agreement to set aside.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. Registering, or submitting an organization after that date, is acceptance of the current version. The Privacy notice explains how personal data is handled.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania.
